Lambda Scorpii, Scorpio Electric's newly named flagship
electric maxi-scooter,
now EU Whole-Vehicle Type-Approved
SINGAPORE, 30 July 2025 - Scorpio Electric Pte. Ltd. (“Scorpio Electric”), Singapore's first
electric motorcycle manufacturer announced today that its flagship model now has an official name: Lambda Scorpii
(“LS”). The model has also successfully received EU Whole-Vehicle Type-Approval
(“WVTA”). This historical achievement marks a pivotal moment not only for Scorpio Electric but for
Singapore's innovation landscape.
LS is the first electric motorcycle developed in Singapore from the ground up to receive WVTA certification, meeting
all the required European Union safety, environmental, and technical standards under Regulation (EU) No. 168/2013.
A Clean-Sheet Electric Platform, Built to Global Standards
The EU WVTA certification confirms that LS meets all necessary safety, environmental, and technical standards as an
L3e-A1 category vehicle. It includes the successful completion of both the Certificate of Conformity and Certificate of Production audits.

- Clean-Sheet Electric Platform: Engineered from the ground up, every component - from powertrain
and electronics to vehicle control systems was developed and validated in-house by Scorpio Electric with full
control over design, engineering, and production.
- Global readiness: EU WVTA opens the doors for expansion into key international markets.

Named after a star in the Scorpius constellation, Lambda Scorpii reflects Scorpio Electric’s unique
design direction and marks the beginning of a new chapter. The name captures the spirit of what the brand stands
for: bold design, strong performance, and smart technology made for the modern eco-conscious rider.
As Singapore gears up for its SG60 National Day celebrations, this historical moment is also a proud one for local
innovation, with a fully designed and engineered electric motorcycle from Singapore, now approved for and ready for
